Vermilion

Bring it down
Like fire on my tongue
In places deeper
Oblivion
Vermilion
In velvet flames
Dancing darkness
Invading veins
Colors running red
Threads across and down
Sprinkling crumbs of bread
Words like clues for ears
Lips left different shades
Blue from barely breathing
Caught up in the sound
Taking a tidal beating
Let the ocean in these lungs
Leave only one option
To find my own way
Back into your eyes
Hungry for your touch
And you've no idea
How I long to free this lust
Barely contained
Within these vibrant hues
Talk of me and you
Is a fire ever burning
A spirit now indwelt
Ephemeral
An aching luminescence
Begging to be witnessed
Tell me your salvation
Sell me your rendition
Whispered down below
In quiet moments in between
And vows indelible
Meet me in this
Strawberry sunrise
Counting down to
Sunsets of scarlet
Bring me this abyss
A horizon unreachable
But that I can always kiss
Ambitious
The indefinite remains
Lingering syllables
Of songs left sadly unwrit'
And fires left unlit
Now ignite this
Quenched against my touch
In velvet flames
Colors running red
Vermilion
