SINKING IN
Tell me what these pieces mean
Intrusive thoughts and sordid dreams
Truths uncovered in our sleep
Urges lurking underneath
Building me back up
From these constituent parts
Allegedly I'm collapsing
Fundamentally floundering
Make for me an altar
Lay me down at dawn
Where the ocean meets the continent
The ends of all the Earth
Rising up and spiraling
Deserted like these hands
Stopped half way through doing deeds
To never move again
Clocks aren't all that's broken
Dented demented mind
Found here so unraveled
Traveling these waves of time
Paint for me a picture
Of a sin for you and I
A concoction or a mixture
Potion of pleasures fine
This heavy fuzz buzzes
Swallowed up in the sky
Unable to distinguish
Stars above from fireflies
Thunder rumbles
Empire's crumble
Pull me close
Sinking in
Summer fires, newly lit
Don't fade away yet
Caught up in a kiss
Enchanted by your eyes
Tell me that these shadows mean
A lean and righteous love
Don't feed this mouth no empty doubts
When all I want is sin
Overgrown with belly fat
Basking out on the stones
Hoping to grow gray and old
With warmth inside these bones
Searching grooves and creases
Feeling more than full
A devil in these details
A vampire's kiss too
Echo in this cathedral
Speak to me your name
Laying here still hungry
Dancing in the flames
Tell me what is in the cards
So I can throw these bones
And shed from me anxiety
To make a truer love
