Sometimes things burn brightly for a time but are not meant to be permanent fixtures. Some are shooting stars and are not meant to be forever.
Enveloped in elder mystery
Vanished in the mist
Echoed out of centuries
Lost in all of this
Cataclysmic warmth
Celestial back and forth
Parry and riposte
Rivers running through it
Eroded egos congregate
Fossils at the base of this valley
A canyon carved with symmetry
Making methods to the madness
Chasing after icy tails
Cosmic comet's orbit
Melted in this impact dense
Losing track of destinations
Pantheons of elder gods
I place them by the wayside
For a moment in your sunrise skies
I'm brighter than the sunshine
With your eclipse this solar disk
Loses all sense of borders
Edgeless eternal transcendence
Now burning like the phoenix
We trace legends in these patterns
Constellations now made whole
Stories worth remembrance
Once predicted now come true
Though gravity pulls this apart
And entropy overtakes us
There is no regret here in this heart
And no way I could forget this
Place of true unraveling
Endeavors worth undertaking
An aching forged and then submerged
Steel quenched and now unbreaking
Until with confused tongues we part
Though with our eyes still calling
A shared language somehow missing now
And Babel before us fallen
Enshrouded in faded memories
Temples of passions painted
With no vows or hopes renewed in these
Stones with epithet's now hated
A monolithic ruin
A meaning lost to time
A love prone to undoing
Forsaken but still not
