A Note About Generative AI

I typically don't post housekeeping on this site, tending to stick to just the poems I write. However I thought I would detail some changes that are going to be coming to this website.
From January 2022 until late 2023 I was making use of generative ai to create some of the images that would accompany my poems. At the time I didn't really fully understand how these ai models work or just how destructive and intrusive they would become. Ai is now forced into everything and it is starting to hurt people in a myriad of ways.
Everything from the economic impact, the environmental impact, and just the fact that it undermines the creative integrity of what I'm trying to do here.
So starting today I am going to be slowly but surely working my way through past posts and replacing any ai generated images and covers with royalty free images from sources like Pexels. This may take a while and in the meantime hopefully Pexels doesn't start allowing a bunch of ai on their site because if they do I will have to find another source. Either way I'm hoping for this site to be 100% purged of ai within the first half of 2026.
